Have you recently celebrated your 30th birthday? That’s fantastic! Welcome to a new decade!

With each passing birthday, most people who have just reached 30 or are in their 30s experience a sense of despair.

This joyful occasion, which used to evoke such enthusiasm, has now become a period of worry. Birthdays are now characterized by a flashback of your life in which you evaluate what you have accomplished and where you are still falling short.

The 30s can turn out to be “a not so chilled out phase of your lifetime” because of your own self-inflicted judgments with others and social pressure.

In this article, we are going to discuss 8 common mistakes you could be making in your 30s and how you should avoid them to live a cheerful and happy life.

Common Mistakes People make after turning 30

1) Don’t just settle for the sake of it!

If you are in a relationship.

When it comes to long-term commitments, settling isn’t an option. You have the power to keep the flame burning in your relationship. If you’re unhappy in your relationship, reflect on the good things your relationship brings. Relationships aren’t only fun and games; they are hard work. If your relationship is healthy, work with your partner to keep it alive. If you simply want to try something new, beware! The grass always appears greener on the other side, but that is because it is watered. Tend to your own grass to maintain a beautiful relationship.

If you are in a toxic relationship

If you’re single.

When a single person reaches the age of 30, they get fearful. They begin to question if they will ever meet someone special in their lives. There are billions of wonderful people out there who might make an excellent match for you.

Probably start the dating game and explore. You’ll be overwhelmed with amazing options in no time!

2) Taking social media so seriously

While social media is more widespread and influential in our lives than ever before, that doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. It’s your life, and you have complete freedom to change it.

Regular breaks from social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are an important part of growing up and moving forward. Negativity is promoted on social media (although not always), but it is!

It makes you feel inferior and offers you an opportunity to compare yourself to others. Not only that, but it’s also the source of a lot of childish online debates that you don’t want to deal with.

So, don’t allow it to rule your life or make you question your life. Live your life your way and to the fullest.

3) Doesn’t give your career the right path!

Many people reach the age of 30 and they prefer to continue with what they have.

This is not a good idea.

Irrespective of your education or expertise, the truth is that you have a world of possibility in front of you.

Are you an architect interested in becoming a town planner? The two professions are related, therefore there’s no excuse why you can’t start it.

Although if you work as a computer programmer and want to become a painter, it is entirely achievable with the appropriate career strategic planning.

The time you waste thinking about not being competent enough for a better job may be spent taking on a new role and discovering how to flourish.

4) Worrying too much about your flaws!

It’s easy to be critical of ourselves, especially when we reach a significant age like 30.

We’re always complaining about:

  • Body image issues
  • Comparing ourselves to others
  • Self-esteem problems
  • Position at the bottom of the career ladder
  • Concerns about personal relationships
  • Depression caused by a traumatic event in the past
  • Insecurity regarding our appearance and intellect

It’s common to observe our bodies aging and feel insecure and dejected as we get older.

But, DON’T LET IT BOTHER YOU.

Working on improving every day is a fantastic ambition, but pushing for perfection can lead to a toxic attitude.

So, strive to be a better version of yourself, rather than trying to be someone else or flawless. Take pleasure in life and its flaws.

5) Not saving & investing money

Money is important. It is quite important.

Your attitude about money and how you interact with it can have a significant impact on your life. On a more practical level, when you get older, you’ll need money.

It can be incredibly difficult to live a glorious life later on if you are irresponsible and waste money. Financial planning may not appear to be glamorous, but it is crucial.

If you don’t make an attempt to save money, you may find yourself in a situation where you have no savings.

Begin saving and investing as soon as possible! Begin in your teens, if not in your teens, then in your tweenies, and if not in your twenties, then in your thirties. Continue reading on Common Mistakes people make in their 30’s by clicking here…
